The fan page that I am going to use for this assignment is http://www.facebook.com/titleist
1) The biggest thing I think is important with creating a campaign is using social media to its fullest, with out getting out of hand. It is important with social media to remember quality over quantity is very important. There is no reason to have 40 different social media platforms if you only keep up with facebook, and twitter. Also, Titleist has its own type of “social media” plat form on their web site, so that is a good place to start advertising as well, to get people that are involved with “Team Titleist” to like Titleist’s facebook fan page as well.
2) I would create a Twitter account and link it to my facebook fan page. I would use twitter to help get my brand’s name out into the public, by tweeting special things, and use twitter to do daily, and monthly give aways. I would ask people to answer questions, or fill in the blanks, etc. and the first so many people to answer would receive a prize (a sleeve of balls, a club, a tshirt, hat, etc.)
3) Titleist is a huge sponsor for a lot of golf tournaments, and there are always titleist commercials on during golf events, in my commercials i would advertise the fact that we as a brand have a fan page.
4) There are a lot of PGA tour players who tweet all the time. As part of their contract with titleist, I would put in their contract that they must help promote the fan page, stating that they must tweet “x” amount of times a month about the page. This way when people follow certain golfers that they like, that are Titleist pros, they will see them talking about the fan page, and this will get them to check out the page as well.
Social Media Campaign Ideas to Build Fans & Increase Engagement
VerticalResponse Email Marketing Blog for Small Business: Social Media Campaign Ideas to Build Fans & Increase Engagement
As I sit here and think about the concept of the second screen, I have a really awesome thought that I would like to develop and be able to use myself on my iPad, or on an iPhone.
As I shared in class, I love to watch golf so my second screen idea goes along with golf. I want to have an app that is for use with an iPad or iPhone that is updated each week in accordance with the PGA tour and which course the tour is at for the week.
Each tournament begins on Thursday and goes through Sunday. My thoughts for the app are Monday through Wednesday offer pictures of the practice rounds, and pictures of the course. Starting Thursday, the app could be more interactive. I would like to be able to go hole by hole, through the whole course, also I would like to be able to see each pin placement on the green, and a special “green view” that shows the break in each green.
I would like to be able to choose a specific golfer, or group to be able to follow through their round and watch where each shot is hit, then go and see what their next shot is going to look like, distance, hazards, bunkers, etc.
Make it more like you are actually there watching, and also be able to see where each player hit their shot on a specific selected hole.
When the group or player your watching is on the green, I would like them to use their special technology they use on tv to show you the break, and the line you should hit.
Also I would like to watch replays of swings, or good shots.
Also I think there should be an app hashtag, and tweets that contain that hashtag would show up in a sidebar.
For Project 1 I chose to use my stepdad’s Hair salon, that he owns and operates with the help of his sister, for my social media project.
Robin’s (the name of the salon) has been established in waterford for 35 years, and up until now has had no social media whatsoever. I chose to make a facebook, twitter, and Flickr account for them.
This should help increase clients, and also make for a better understanding of the salon. Tim and Colleen are both super excited for their new social media platforms, however teaching them how to use each has been a little tedious, to say the least.
They are struggling a little with learning the concept of social media, so they are actually going to hire me to keep up with their social media, as they try to learn it themselves.
Here are my 3 links!
